Job description

We're looking for a Technical Product Owner to join our Product team. This role is central to executing our product strategy, roadmap, and feature definitions, providing cross-functional leadership to achieve a shared product vision. A key focus is managing demand from various business units, balancing business needs with technical constraints.

Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Product Owner, you will lead and manage the duties of a multidisciplinary team by organizing and prioritizing their work. Your main objective is to ensure the on-time delivery of value and help the squad members meet their roadmap goals with quality. The main responsibilities are: 

  • Backlog Management: Taking ownership of the team's backlog, prioritizing tasks by balancing business needs with technical constraints, and refining the backlog based on roadmap changes and stakeholder feedback. You'll also work closely with the Technical Product Manager to translate their vision into operational criteria.

  • Agile Leadership: Guiding the team and organization on how to use agile practices and self-organization. You will facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution.

  • Process Improvement: Driving continuous improvements through retrospective processes by eliminating waste, introducing automation, and promoting the use of AI tools.

  • Coordination & Reporting: Coordinating dependencies for issue readiness, keeping track of timely execution (including risks and costs), and delivering weekly team performance data and insights to senior management.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

To be successful, you should have:

Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • A university degree in the IT field or a related field.

  • Experience in managing projects with high complexity that require a technical background and working in cross-functional teams.

  • Deep knowledge of the product life-cycle and applying project management methodologies, especially Agile ones.

  • 4+ years of experience in software development, including 1+ years of professional experience with product ownership, as a Product Owner, or as a Scrum Master.

Hard Skills:

  • Project management.

  • Advanced Jira's Issue management and administration.

  • Advanced Confluence usage.

  • Basic Linux, GIT workflows, and user-level CI/CD understanding.

  • Languages: English and Spanish

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to resolve conflicts.

  • Good influencing and negotiation skills.
